Presentation Template of the Standard

As part of the lung cancer care pathway standard project by Tartu University Hospital and the Health Insurance Fund, free training is offered to healthcare professionals who want to familiarise themselves with the standard. In connection with this, I was asked to create a presentation template for the trainers so that the slide decks would have a consistent design language unique to the project. To make the template easy for everyone to use, I created it in Google Slides.

While designing the presentation template, my goal was to generally follow the Hospital's visual identity guidelines while also giving the materials an innovative look so that they're cohesive but stand out from the older ones. The curved graphic elements in the background are gradients shifting from one Hospital colour to another.

Training Material Illustrations

Regarding the standard's training materials, I was first asked to redesign an existing diagram created by the Onkoloogika community to make it visually align with the standard's materials.

Secondly, I was asked to design three new content graphics that needed to match both the first diagram and the slides. For these, I used the Dax Pro typeface (which is used on the Hospital’s website) and a darker background to provide visual variety across the training slides.

Breathing Techniques Material

For patients with cancer and suspected cancer, physical activity is recommended. However, patients have previously raised concerns that the guidelines lacked details on how much or in what ways they should move. To ensure patients with suspected lung cancer know which exercises are beneficial, I collaborated with the Hospital's physical therapists to create an informational guide titled Breathing Techniques.

For this project, I received a lengthy text document describing exercises, which I rewrote into concise instructions. I also aligned the design visually with the rest of the lung cancer care pathway materials so it would fit seamlessly into the training kit. Where the Hospital didn't provide materials, I created explanatory illustrations for the exercises (pages 6 and 10 in the material).
