A digital reading environment supporting concentration for reading academic texts
2026 | Bachelor's Thesis
The aim of the thesis was to design a digital product that helps train concentration skills in a reading context and increases motivation for reading professional literature. I wanted to make it easier to get started with reading.
I designed a digital product concept that brings academic texts related to the user's interests together in one place. Among other things, the digital product supports the user's social needs and reading motivation by offering weekly reading recommendations from professionals in their field, and allowing them to share recommendations with friends.
The user's focus is supported by an innovative pre-tuning phase woven into the reading experience, various reading support tools, and a minimalist user interface. The solution makes getting started with professional literature mentally easier by combining all necessary components — text recommendations, texts, pre-tuning, and the reading environment — into a single seamless experience.
