The artwork was created for an exhibition held in the open areas on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Estonian Academy of Arts, the central keywords of which were 'control', 'time', and 'decay'. As supervisor and curator Bob Bicknell-Knight wrote: ''What does it look like when a system is unstable, when interfaces transform over time, or when a user’s control of a known system is deliberately unsettled?"

Your Local News is a browser-based interactive artwork that takes the form of a news website. The work consists of article thumbnails coupled with oddly different-leaning headlines. On further investigation, the viewer can find that the headlines function as dropdown menus — leaving them with the dilemma of which wording to choose.
The purpose of this work is to bring attention to one of the reasons we find it so difficult to reach agreement (or even understanding) on so many issues.
All title options are real headlines published by popular news outlets, showing how differently the same stories are depicted across the myriad of echo chambers our algorithms might have carried us to.
With thanks to Erik Lond for help with the physical set-up.
